Climate
in Karachi in October is pleasant to warm with temperatures
ranging from 20oC to 25oC.
Travel
and Visa
Most foreign nationals require a valid visa for entry and
are advised to consult Pakistani missions at least two months
prior to their intended date of departure.

Currency exchange facilities are available at the airport,
all leading hotels and at money changers located all over
the city which provides favourable exchange rates.

Most hotels, restaurants and many shops accept international
credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

to visit several important places in Karachi.

Important Information
Venue
The SIUT Symposium as well as all scientific/trade exhibitions
will be held at new premises of SIUT. Shuttle service will
be provided from Hotels to the SIUT.
Pre Congress 'Hands On' Workshop / Instructional Course
Three Workshops are being arranged on October 23, 2008 at the SIUT premises (separate registration required on a 'first come - first serve' basis as limited seats are available).Each participant can attend only one of the three workshops.
During Congress a full day workshop on ethics will be held on 25th October, 2008
This workshop requires a separate registration.
Scientific and Technical
Exhibition
Adequate space has been reserved at the SIUT for exhibitors
to display the latest advances in medical and associated technology.
Pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers of technical equipment
and software, as well as publishers of scientific books are
invited to display their products.
Payment
Foreign participants are to make all payments in US$. Payment in Pak.Rs.Is for local participants and on-site registration only. Payment can be made via cheque, pay order or bank draft. Please see the Registration Form for method of payment.
Accommodation
Several hotels have been chosen to provide accommodation for all delegates. These include top range, medium and budget hotels. Further information including tariffs and a location map is available on our website www.siut.org. To guarantee your reservation, a one-night deposit (Payable in US$ for foreign participants and in Pak. rupees for local participants) must be included.
Invitation Letter
Individuals requiring an official of invitation letter for visa purposes etc. may request the same from the Secretariat. This does not imply that registration fees or any other type of expense will be undertaken by the Organizers.
