• Symptoms of kidney diseases are mostly observed when the functioning of kidneys have already declined to a level when treatment is sometime irreversible and patients with even milder symptoms came to know that their vital organs are not working well , the common complaints are suppressed appetite, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath and decline in normal urine output.

• When the symptoms became wised which indicates non- functionary of kidneys and when medical treatment failed there patients usually required clearance of nitrogenous waste products through expensive procedures known as dialysis.

• Kidney failure has several causes the important one are poorly controlled diabetes mellitus and hypertension, repeated urinary tract infections kidney stones and abuse of pharmaceutical and non pharmaceutical agents.

• Diabetes mellitus usually in patients in range more than 40 years and in whom where it is poorly controlled high incidence of kidney involvement has been observed, there fore early diagnosis and better treatment prevents kidney damage secondary to diabetes mellitus. Patients with diabetes mellitus of any one group need to have their repeated blood sugar level, urine analysis especially for proteins, any examination an its early treatment and care of skin and both extremities.

• Patients with high blood pressure (hypertension) are also at an risk of developing kidney failure, there fore it is mandatory to have regular follow up by your clinician and appropriate control of hypertension.

• Kidney stones are common in upper Sindh and South Punjab where people facing difficulty in access of clean water there fore people from some areas are prone to develop stones in kidneys and urinary bladder kidneys stones if remained in treated is one of the main cause of kidney damage which can be irreversible. Repeated urinary tract infections, especially in children may cause kidney damage. Patients with kidney stones or patients with urinary tract infections should urologist to prevent permanent kidney failure.

• Excessive and inappropriate drugs usage must be avoided
