Teaching
and Training
Currently 45 students are being trained at the Fazal
Elahi Center for Postgraduates Studies, besides 104
technicians and 21 nursing assistants.
SIUT also play a vital role in training doctors and
technical staff from SAARC and neighboring developing
countries.
School of Technology
In 2005 SIUT opened its Zainul Abiden School for Technologist
for 60 students yearly leading to a B.Sc. Degree from
University of Karachi. It trains students in the field
of Dialysis, Operation theater, ICU, Radiology and Laboratory.
Nursing School and College
In 2006, SIUT opened its doors for nursing assistants
for a 2 year diploma and internship programme. A comprehensive
3 year diploma is scheduled to start by September this
year. Post graduate nursing diploma in urology, nephrology
and transplantation has recently been introduced.
Center for Biomedical
Ethics and Culture
The center of biomedical Ethics and culture (CBEC) inaugurated
in 2004 is the first such center in Pakistan. It caters
to the growing realization of educating healthcare professionals
in the field of bio medical ethics.
The Primary goal of CBEC is to serve as an academic
and intellectual national resource. Presently 20 doctors
from across the country under going postgraduate diploma
(PGD) in biomedical ethics.
Regional & International
Collaboration
SIUT collaborates with various International teaching
institutions and hospitals for specialized training
and research.
SIUT has collaborated with12 centers in Europe, North
America, the Middle East, South Asia and the SAARC countries.
