DIALYSIS

Kidneys are vital organ of the body and responsible for clearance of waste products and excretion of excess water in the form of urine, kidneys are also responsible for hemoglobin formation and calcium metabolism.

Patients with multifunction of kidneys required artificial ways for the clearance of waste products and maintenance of body water through a procedure called dialysis, this procedure requires life long requirement if a kidney damage is permanent or irreversible. Dialysis procedure is a universally accepted in patients who have end stage kidney disease and required twice or thrice per week, there is a temporary way of treatment but the permanent mode of treatment is placement of a healthy kidney into the deceased which is called renal transplantation.

Majority of people assume that kidneys are only responsible for manufacturing and excretion of urine and it is not true and after extended duration of research it was proceed that kidneys are not only responsible for excretion and water metabolism but also responsible for the various chemical reaction vitals for a living objects, and for the last two decades it was observed that patients with hypertension have associated kidney involvement , therefore all patients with hypertension must have to rule out kidney dysfunction via blood test, urine analysis and radiological analysis.

At SIUT we perform thrice weekly kidney transplant and before that dialysis of these patients, we treat all of these patients free of cost.

We perform dialysis per day, and since 1986 SIUT has performed renal transplants with a success rate matching International Standards.
