GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
     
  • Deadline for submission of abstracts: July 31, 2008.
       
  • Abstracts can be submitted online or by email (abstract@siut.org). Online submission is the recommended option. Faxed abstract will not be accepted.
       
  • Abstracts will appear exactly as submitted.
       
  • Abstract should not exceed 250 words. The abstract should be typed in single spacing, Use: Microsoft Word, Font: Times New Roman, Font size: 11.
     
  • Type title in CAPITAL LETTERS. Title should be concise and indicate the content of the abstract.

  • Organise abstract as follows: Objectives - Method - Results – Conclusions.
       
  • Use first initial followed by last name. Name of the author who will present the paper must be underlined.
     
  • Institution and address of the author(s), city, state and country are required.
     
  • Only those abstracts submitted by November 30, 2007 or earlier will be considered.
     
  • Please select the appropriate category for your abstract.
     
  • All errors on the abstract are the responsibility of the author and will not be corrected by the organizers.
     
  • Acknowledgment of the receipt of the abstract will be sent by e-mail.

Abstract submission by email:

  • If you want to send your abstracts via email please download the abstract form (MS Word document).
     
  • Fill in the form by entering your details, select your topic, and paste your abstract in the box.
     
  • Save your file in your hard disk as MS Word document and send it as attachment via email ‘abstract@siut.org’.

Guidelines for Oral Presentations

  • May we remind all speakers to strictly observe the time schedule and complete their presentation within the time allotted to them.
     
  • For those with oral presentations, preview room will be available during session hours at the Karachi Sheraton Hotel (venue).
     
  • Speakers are requested to report to the Speakers centre in preview room at least 3 hours before the presentation. All oral presentations should be prepared in PowerPoint on CD, DVD, USB-memory stick, floppy disk or ZIP disk.
     
  • Speakers who will be making a presentation at the first morning session of each day are requested to copy their presentation the day before to avoid delays.
     
  • Free papers: Each presentation will last a total of 10 minutes (Presentation time 7 minutes followed by Questions and Answers 3 minutes).

Guidelines for Posters Presentations

  • Posters will be displayed for the duration of the Congress. Hanging fixtures will be available for displaying the posters.
     
  • The general format of the poster will be vertical with a width of 1m and a height of 1.5m. Each poster should give the title, author’s name(s), institution, city and country. Lettering for the title should be at least 50mm high and the text at least 10mm high.
     
  • Moderated Poster Session: Selected posters will be represented in a moderated session. Each presentation will last a total of 5 minutes (presentation 3 minutes – 3 slides and questions and answers 2 minutes).
